Privacy
Short version: we keep your job on file and your details with us. Your details are held by Gippsland Asbestos Removal (ABN 31 125 063 078). We use them to count demand by town and material, and show a removalist weighing up a town only those counts; at present we don't pass your details on.
All asbestos removal work is carried out by WorkSafe-licensed removalists.
What we collect
The name, suburb, job details, any address you mention in the job details, and any photos you put in the form. The form itself is hosted by Netlify, a US-hosted form-storage service, which stores your submission and any photos and emails them to our business inbox (Google Workspace, which may store the copy overseas). Calls to the number on the site may be recorded, including any message you leave. We keep the recording and the number you rang from; our phone provider, Twilio, stores both on servers in the United States. Recordings are not shared beyond what the sharing section below allows.
Who it goes to
No removalist. The services named on this page store it for us; apart from those, your details stay with us. We use them only to count demand by town and material. At present we don't pass them to anyone, and this page will be updated before that changes. We delete a registration, and the copy emailed to us, within about 13 months of receiving it, sooner if you ask.
When we talk to removalists about covering a town, they see counts by town, material and timeframe only. At present, names, phone numbers, photos and recordings are not passed to any removalist. Netlify and Google Workspace, named above, store your submission for us. Twilio (US) handles calls to the number and stores any recordings. Telegram, hosted overseas, receives the notification of each phone message. None of the four is a removalist and none acts on your details.
A removalist who takes on enquiries from a town would pay us a flat monthly fee for them; you pay nothing, and we don't add anything to their quote.
Each new phone message sends a notification to our Telegram chat, carrying the site, the caller number and a link to the recording. Telegram is a messaging service hosted overseas, so it may store that notification outside Australia, and we clear these notifications out of that chat at least annually. Alerts about form submissions may also go to Telegram, a messaging service hosted overseas, once that is switched on; an alert carries your suburb, a short extract of the job details and timing, your name, and a link to the submission, and any alert messages would be cleared out of that chat at least annually.
How long we keep it
A call recording, including any message you leave, is kept on the same terms: we delete the recording, and our own record of the caller number, within about 13 months of the call, sooner if you ask. Twilio also keeps its own log of the call (the number and the time) under its own retention policy. We delete a registration, and the copy emailed to us, within about 13 months of receiving it, sooner if you ask. Anything you email us directly, photos included, is kept and deleted on the same terms. Email hello@gippslandasbestosremoval.com.au if you'd like yours removed sooner.
Access, correction and complaints
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to make a privacy complaint, email hello@gippslandasbestosremoval.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies. If we add basic visit counting later it will be a privacy-respecting service that doesn't identify you.
